What is a Poker Run?

A Poker Run is an organized ride with a group of motorcyclists along a pre-determined route of approximately 100 miles. At 20 mile intervals are checkpoints where (originally) all participants receive a sealed envelope with a playing card inside.

When the five envelopes are collected and the final destination is reached, the envelopes are opened and the player with the highest natural poker hand is the winner. A cash prize is usually rewarded for the winners luck and effort.

As the Poker Run has grown, it has become impractical for us to seal 25,000 playing cards in envelopes. Currently, when the final destination is reached, a five card stud poker hand is dealt to everyone successfully completing the entire run. The top five hands receive cash prizes.
